Place the park brake onto the front cover. Install the mounting bolts and washers and tighten to 234 269 N·m (173 – 198 lb ft). 2. If using the original yoke and pinion shaft, install the original shims onto the pinion shaft end and assemble the drive yoke onto the pinion shaft. If yoke or pinion shaft have been replaced, shim as required to obtain a gap of 0.076 – 0.127 mm (0.003 – 0.005 in) between end of pinion shaft and yoke retaining washer. Torque the retaining bolt to 378 – 678 N·m (279 – 500 lb ft).. 3. Install tee and then reconnect both lines. 4. Pull drive shaft and pillow block to rear and install bolts to yoke using LOCTITE® 242 on bolt threads. Torque to 115 – 129 N·m (85 – 95 lb ft). 5. Install the pillow block and two attaching bolts, washers and nuts. Torque bolts to 271 – 298 N·m (200 – 220 lb ft). NOTE: The pillow block must be installed in its original position on the frame as marked when removed. The flint washers must be installed on the top side of the pillow block.
