Access is gained by removing two screws and the cover panel. On the rear of the cover panel is a decal showing the fuses and their respective circuits. The ignition relay is also found in this location, to the left of the fuse block. All the fuses in the 686G, 686GXR and 688G Series 2 Telescopic Handlers are located on this fuse panel. Each fuse controls an electrical section of the machine. Front Ballast Kill Switch The switch is located on the front crossmember of the frame, next to the battery, and is integrated into the starting circuit. The switch is designed so that the machine will not start if the front ballast is removed. Removal of the ballast makes normal operation of the machine unsafe. With the front ballast in place, the switch is activated and the starting circuit is available to start the machine. This switch should be checked if the machine will not start and all other probable causes have been eliminated.
