Manual Extract REMOVING A FINAL DRIVE
1. See the correct section in this service manual and remove the rear attachment. Remove the bottom guard, if equipped, for the final drive. Also, remove the mounting arms, mounting frames, etc.
2. Remove the sprocket from the final drive to be removed according to the instructions in Section 5509.
3. Put a jack under the transmission to help hold the transmission in place when the final drive is removed.
Do not lift the transmission with the jack.
4. Loosen and remove the cap screws that fasten the top of the final drive to the seat frame.
5. Loosen and remove the cap screws that fasten the front of the final drive to the main frame.
6. Loosen and remove the self-locking nuts that fasten the final drive to the transmission.
7. Fasten lifting tool CAS-1553 to the sprocket shaft.
Push the clamps tightly against the housing and tighten the nut.
8. Connect acceptable lifting equipment to the tool and put a long pipe on the end of the tool.
9. Remove the final drive from the machine. It can be necessary to hit the final drive on the bottom front and rear to break the seal between the final drive and the transmission. Also, use a prybar as required
