Manual Extract Hydraulic Pump Installation
1. Connect acceptable lifting equipment to the hydraulic pump. Raise the hydraulic pump into position.
2. Rotate the drive shaft of the hydraulic pump to align the splines of the drive shaft with the drive plate on the engine.
3. Push the hydraulic pump against the engine and install the cap screws and lock washers.
4. Tighten the cap screws to 65 to 85 pound-feet (88 to 115 Nm, 9 to 16 kg/m).
5. Disconnect the outlet hoses to the fittings in the hydraulic pump.
7. Connect the inlet tubes to the hydraulic pump.
8. Tighten the clamps on the inlet tubes.
9. Tighten the cap screws for the split flanges to 55 to 65 pound-feet (74 to 88 N m, 8 to 9 kg/m).
10. See Section 8201. Fill the reservoir with approximately 19 U.S. gallons (72 liters) of oil.
11. If the gears or the gear housings were replaced in the hydraulic pump, it is necessary to prepare the hydraulic pump for use. See page 8200-0.
12. Start and run the engine at idle for two minutes.
13. Increase the engine speed to full throttle. Operate controls to extend and retract all cylinders to remove air from the hydraulic system.
14. Check the oil level in the reservoir. Add oil as necessary. See Section 8201.
15. Continue to run the engine at full throttle. Operate the tool control. After the tool stops moving, hold the control in the power position for 15 seconds.
Then release the control for 30 seconds. Repeat this procedure three times.
