This service manual is a guide for servicing Cat® lift trucks M70D, M80D, M100D, M120D.
Electrically Assisted Braking
(Auto Regen) – Feature "2"
Setting this feature will automatically activate regenerative braking when the service brake is depressed. A service brake switch must be wired between circuits 14 and 15 of the direction lever.
When activated, this switch connects circuits 14 and 15, which sends a code telling the logics that the brake has been depressed. As long as the brake pedal is depressed, regen braking will continue until the lift truck stops. The accelerator must be released and the direction lever must be in either forward or reverse.
If this feature is not selected, depressing the service brake will place the truck in neutral.
When this feature is selected, a wire must be added from the from the regen diode (D6D) anode at the regen contactor to the extra logic pin connector P4-1. A 903705 connector and a 907440
contact will be required. Also, logic board switch SW11 must be positioned to the left (off). If either of these is not done, an additional error code will be displayed: "Fd". This can happen if the wire falls off, the regen contactor welds shut, or if SW11 is left incorrectly to the right (on) position.
