The hydraulic section of the pneumatic tractor brakes is bled through bleed plugs (1) located at the rear right-hand side of the tractor. 2. Start the engine. 3. Connect a flexible pipe (preferably transparent) to the bleed plugs (1) and then connect them to the hydraulic tank. 4. Open the trailer brake bleed plug (1). 5. Press moderately on the coupled brake pedals, with pedal travel of approximately 20 mm (0.8 in). NOTE: Never press the pedals down more than 25 mm (1.0 in) when the bleed plugs are open. A jet of pressurised oil will spurt out of the bleed plugs. 6. Let the air bleed out at the plugs. 7. Close the plug again when the fluid coming out no longer shows any trace of foam or air bubbles. Release the pedals. 8. Bleed the main brakes of the tractor see 1A16, §2.2, page 497. 9. Check the oil levels in the auxiliary hydraulics and gearbox.
