This is also the pressure that is necessary to begin to upstroke the pump. The pressure can be higher in one direction or in the other direction by the use of the neutral adjusting screw. The total deadband is not adjustable, but the band can be adjusted to a neutral position. The test is performed on the machine to check the position of the servo for the steering system. The test will show if the servo valve requires adjustment or the deadband requires adjustment. Perform this test if one of the following conditions exist: • The steering pump upstrokes while the transmission control lever is in the PARK position. • The transmission control lever is in the PARK position. The belts turn while the machine is in a raised position. If the following conditions occur, an electrical problem exists in the steering system: • The steering pump only upstrokes when the transmission control lever is in the NEUTRAL position. • The belts only turn while the machine is in a raised position. The transmission control lever is in the NEUTRAL position. If necessary, calibrate the steering wheel first.
